The Blue Heart Campaign - July 30th World Day Against Trafficking in Persons (WDATP)

The Blue Heart Campaign is a global awareness raising initiative to fight human trafficking and its impact on society.

It seeks to encourage involvement from governments, civil society, the corporate sector and individuals alike, to inspire action and help prevent this heinous crime.

In the meeting and event industry, we pride ourselves on having a positive impact on the communities that we visit. It is time to gather our courage and take a stand for those who can’t by wearing a BLUE HEART on the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons (WDATP) on July 30th.

The Blue Heart is increasingly recognized as the international symbol against human trafficking, representing the sadness of those who are trafficked. The campaign allows people to show their solidarity with the victims of human trafficking and increasing their visibility by wearing the Blue Heart.

Four Actions to Support WDATP
1. Wear a blue heart in support of the Blue Heart Campaign. By wearing the Blue Heart everyone can show their support and express their solidarity with trafficking victims.
2. Inform yourself by downloading the brochure on this year's theme and on UNODC's work on human trafficking.
3. If you see something, say something. Call the National Human Trafficking Resource Center Hotline at (888) 373-7888 if you notice any of the signs of trafficking.
4. Donate to the UN Voluntary Trust Fund for Victims of Human Trafficking. The UN Trust Fund for Victims of Trafficking in Persons provides aid and protection to victims of trafficking by identifying vulnerable victims, especially women and children, and offers essential services such as shelter, food, medical care, psycho-social support, legal aid, vocational training, access to justice and compensation.
